re begining of escalating costs in health was 1965 and Medicare
Thanks James!
I "knew" the doctor was right but didnt have the initial important fact. I've known always that I dislike and mistrust medicare. This was brought home to me clearly last year when someone proudly told me "The taxpayer just paid $1 million for me to have that operation".
Incidentally the operation was back surgery and she is much much much worse off after than she was before, in spite of excellent doctors.

(I do far better with inexpensive massage, chirocare and aloe vera and yoga, none of it paid for by either insurance OR the taxpayer.)
From what I have read of the Medicare too, when you reach 65 you have to be on it. Is that correct?
