Janice, I agree with your characterization of a basher. I have also seen the threads where a basher seems to be anyone who does not feed the group fantasy. It is a shame that so many investors refuse to take the opportunity to learn from people with different opinions. I think I qualify as a relatively sophisticated investor, others may disagree, yet I find I have learned a lot from discussions on SI. And since I am by nature a long side investor, I never sell short, I found it curious that I improved my analysis the most by engaging in civilized discussions with people who were critical of the equities I invest in. Including a certain poet I was accused of being the janitor (thats an in joke folks). For the record, the negatives rarely changed my view but made me much more disciplined and rigorous in my research and analysis. People who make a decision to ignore anyone they disagree with our closing themselves out from a tremendous opportunity to challenge themselves and grow. Henry
