I have never just conveniently dismissed a relevant argument...If you think you made a valid point about how individual rights ARE NOT the bedrock upon which all liberty rests, please post it again. I will gladly point out where it is wrong, as I probably did the first time.
If I didn't, it's probably because it was not relevant to the issue at hand.
As for the Wealth of Nations or other political philosophy, feel free to bring them up. Smith is not ambiguous at all....and I HAVE ACTUALLY read the book. And written papers on it. Unlike many others who claim to have read it. Sure, it's easy to disagree on it...but most people who disagree on it probably haven't read it, or are trying to advance a political/egomaniacal stance that is unsubstantiated by Smith.
Even at the New School (Smith was anathema, there), they respect his work and teach it with extraordinary care.
