Charles,

Re:I meant no offense really by calling you naive

None taken.

Re:. I wish to ask you a question though. What do you feel strong enough about that you are willing to put your life on the line to for and why?

I just returned from a trip to Nepal about 2 months ago. Before I left, I wasn't a big fan of guns to begin with. Once I got there though, I saw for the first time people living harmoniously. You could walk the streets at night in Kathmandu and not worry about being shot. Buddhism has something to do with this since one of the precepts of Buddhism is a respect for all life. It is considered sinful to even step on an ant purposely. This is how I wish to live my life; the way life IMO was meant to be lived. Even though I was walking the streets of the 2nd poorest country on the face of the earth, you had no concern over losing your life during a moonlight stroll. Something which I could not say for the United States.

BTW, you mentioned that countries with gun laws in place do not have the standard of living that the US does. This is a very mootpoint. Britain, Japan, and other European countries have some of the highest in the world.

BTW2, I was brought up in a family where shooting guns at an early age was the norm. My brother is a Major in the Army and we have vastly differing views on this subject, in case you hadn't already guessed that<GGG>
