Time Traveler, Re: "Microsoft says on track with Windows NT 5"

Not to shoot the messenger, Time Traveler, but typical on track for Microsoft:

Microsoft initially had planned to have the product available in late 1997, and more
recently analysts had expected it to be ready by late 1998 or early 1999....

...Earlier, a Morgan Stanley analyst issued cautionary comments about Microsoft, warning
that Windows NT 5.0 could slip into the second half of 1999.

NT 5.0 slips affect Xeon ramp-up, about which I'm sure Microsoft couldn't care less.
