>>>Does this company have any cousins?

Hi Jim. MCHP cousins are all bigger and mightier. Companies like MOT, HIT, NSM.

>>does this bode well for APLX perhaps?

I am not sure what you mean. The two don't relate at all.

Careful Jim,

>>Does this company have any cousins? Might go long in
>>prog logic area!

ATML is in the same type of business and they just announced
tonight they they will miss earnings estimates.

I personally prefer the Microchip products for my own designs
as the support is good and their no minimum order policy
is great for small companies. Atmel has a good line of flash
EEPROM based microcontrollers based on the old 8051 core.
Interesting repackaging an old Intel technology. Microchip
has been very aggressive the last few years at getting design
wins by offering low cost development systems, yearly
seminars and great customer support. Their aggressive
pricing does not hurt either.
