dear mr. forthright:

in response to your valuation model questions (for the benefit of others), i have some comments.

Q. what is the total market for synthetic red blood cell products.
A. to calculate this, we would need to uncover all possible uses for the product and then determine the volume of product for each use. i don't have an answer, but i guess it would be BIG.

Q. market penetration is a function of
A.
1) who is pushing the product. the companies marketing skills, channels of distribution, financing, alliances, etc. will help define market penetration.
2a) adoption rate. this has to do with market penetration which should vary over time and are affected by consumer behavior. for example, once and if synthetic blood is widely accepted- it will penetrate quicker than in its infancy stage.
2b) adoption rate may also vary due to external factors- such as regulations/policies of hospitals, states, etc.

So, what are the answers? i doubt anyone knows. the fact is that if this blood substitute is cost-effective, SGNC will be bought out by a company that can effectively market the product...after all SGNC will have done their job (which is to develop it) and they probably either sell the product or their business if no new products are underway.

this stock will probably be worth 0 or several dollars in the years to come, but i believe that with the batelle funding in place- this is a good stock to place some money for the long-haul

sincerely
