HP/IBM/Compaq and K6-2
I see that HP has the 6330 (K6-2/300) already on their web site but not the K6-2/333.
The fact that HP announced K6-2/333's probably means they expect a sufficient supply soon.
Also, IBM has the E85 (K6-2/300) on their web site but not the K6-2/333. (I don't remember a press release on IBM and K6-2).
Compaq doesn't yet show the K6-2, but I expect them to announce K6-2 next.
This could mean that the makers have plenty of K6-2/300's to ship, but want more K6-2/333's before they go out to market.
HP has bracketed Celeron with K6-2's, with the 6350 (K6-2/333) being the high end of that model series.

Srini, re:Amiga reincarnated (et al)

Thanks or the article post - interesting :)

Seems old competitors never die. Do you know GeoWorks? I once had a developer's copy running on my PC. It was fast on a 486 and did all the right GUI things and had a suite of office tools. I recently saw a Brother cheap "word processor" for sale using it.

This sort of stuff exemplifies Microsoft's position to the DOJ about software monopoly. In essence - sure MS has 90% share, but if the screw up the product on any generation others can easily step into the cracks - There are few entry barriers to code product.

I hope these guys do well in their niche. I like to see all kinds of choices out there.
