Hi John, sorry, I didn't mean to imply that this directly affects my husband - we aren't on Medicare, we're in our early 40's. The post came from the Cochlear Implant listserv he belongs to. (BTW, the CI works great. He can hear much better than he could with his hearing aid, even uses the phone directly.) I think this could be a harbinger of any and all government programs, though. The fact that they are telling people this NOW, in mid-1998, is very significant, IMO.

I'd appreciate help from anyone (not necessarily you, John - you already work SO hard).

There were two different articles which I've been trying to track down, but can't find the links and/or posts.

One has to do with some new government entity comprised of FBI, CIA, Secret Service and I believe the National Security Council and Department of Defense ... who are supposed to work together on Y2K & "cyber-terrorism" issues and contingency planning relating to infrastructure.

The other article I've been searching for, relates to the military and some new thing they've put together to address "cyber-terrorism" infrastructure issues in URBAN areas. Apparently planning is currently going on. I read about this last fall. But, I recall that there was a RECENT article (month or two ago), which I believe referred to 120 cities that were targeted for contingency planning.

If anyone could direct me to any links relating to the above, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Cheryl
