SLINGER, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 1998--GENROCO, Inc. (GENROCO)(OTC BB:''GRCI'') announced today that it has delivered the first of its next generation PCI Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) interface cards to OpenTV of Palo Alto, California, a leading provider of integrated software solutions for the interactive television industry.

The GENROCO DVP-2732 is the first interface card for the PCI bus capable of the real-time multiplexing of a full DVB channel of MPEG-2 digital video data streams. GENROCO is the premier supplier of high performance digital video, storage, and network interfaces to such companies as Digital, Sun, Silicon Graphics, Tektronix, and Fujitsu. The Company, which recently announced 56% revenue growth for the 1998 Fiscal Year ended March 31, provides the industry-leading Fibre Channel and HIPPI controllers to the superserver community.

The DVP-2732 is the newest member of GENROCO's TURBOfibre(R) family of high bandwidth, low host overhead controller products. The single PCI card utilizes a powerful 32 bit 100 MHz Java engine from Patriot Scientific which enables it to merge as many as 70 three-megabit MPEG-2 program streams over a single DVB channel with single packet granularity in real time.

DVB, having originated in Europe and now being adopted in the United States, is an important, worldwide standard for connection of components making up digital video studios. Recently, cable TV companies Time-Warner, TCI, Cox, and others, have announced plans to install over 30 million home set-top boxes for the introduction of video on demand, followed by interactive digital TV. To deliver the video data for this three-year roll-out, more than 100,000 DVB channels, each carrying 60 or more simultaneous subscriber streams, will be required in order to provide lowest cost per stream for expected peak viewing loads. GENROCO's new DVP-2732 controller is currently the only product capable of sustaining such speed.
