California provider lights up ADSL network ahead of schedule

David Kopf, AmericasNetwork

Orconet, an Orange and San Jose, Calif.-based service provider has lit up
asymmetrical digital subscriber line (ADSL) service for Southern California's
Los Angeles and Orange counties earlier than expected.

"We are the first company to offer this service in Los Angeles and Orange
counties," says John Leon, Orconet's network development officer. "The service
has been available in parts of Pasadena and North Hollywood for a couple
weeks, but as of today, it is available through most of Orange and Los Angeles
counties. We expect to be offering our high-speed connectivity to many more
counties throughout California by the end of the month."
