Gee, Hal, it sounds like you are hoping your little baby daughter will stay innocent until she is at least eighteen! Isn't it pretty to think so! I remember holding my baby daughter and having difficulty imagining all that innocence ever morphing into a potentially sexually active, almost grown-up woman who occasionally attempted to talk back to her mother!! I was sure that my superior mothering skills would do something to alter the outcome. But really it all seems to be genetic, pre-programmed, instinctual, like I really knew it was underneath my unrealistic fantasies all the time.

Could some other parents maybe comment on when they let their teenagers start dating, in the sense of actually just the child and one date being alone together?
