Hangin!

Regarding your 56K modem analogy.....hey! Maybe I am right in what I was foreseeing in your original message.

Maybe DGIV being proprietary IS better than standard!

Cause using your 56K modem example....if we become the 56K modem of the internet telephony world...then we will be setting the standards.

Hey....if I'm right in what I'm thinking....then this techno jargon isn't as hard as I thought it was. Haahahahaha! oh my....me? Understand anything technical? Hmmmm....maybe someday pigs will fly.

Howard...remember when we had a 1200bps modem??? how do you think we got to 56K modem...proprietary competition...there was no standards committee thatdeveloped the algorithms and said,,,ok here is the standard....Haris and others wanted to make faster modems and they worked in their labs, (like I do) came up with the algorithms, and implemented them.....standard came after they were implemented...DGIV may have the 56K standard if you get my analogy..
Remember the little battle that was waged by two companies to control the specs for 56K modems. I guess the likes of CSCO, ASND, LU AT&T will be jumping on the DGIV bandwagon. Actually, the most suprizing thing about DGIV it appears be the only VoIP company in which the major players have NOT bought into. And they're buying into anything with VoIP

I guess this is what they call "de facto" standards: your company does it first, does it best, everyone else wants it, so it kind of or really does become the standard....I think the Zip drive is a good example. Sorry for this late response, but as promised, I shut off my computer and resumed "life." Hmmm, then why am I back...
