Cosmo,

You are making several large errors in your blanket math:

1)The Viagra deaths are related only to the time span while on the Viagra--most of these elderly guys are taking Viagra but once a week or so and are under maximum influence for about 4 hours. Four hours a week means that the Viagra is having its effect on 2.38% of the so called life time span. If we take the 30 deaths thus far and divide by .00238 we get 12,605 deaths with constant Viagra use. This IS significant.

2)The Viagra deaths occur along with the normal death rate in humans and is not dependent on "normal" death rates. If the normal death rate (if such a thing exists) is X then who says that the Viagra deaths are calculated as X-(Viagra deaths)? Why not X+(Viagra deaths)? Why cant you place the Viagra deaths on top of the normal rate rather than comparing it to the normal rate? You see the numbers can be looked at from different perspectives.

My point is that not so healthy men on other medications are taking Viagra and dying. It is a fact that can no longer be ignored by the FDA.

I have no desire to see PFE stock price decline. I do wish to see the hard facts revealed.

Cosmo: A Freedom of Information request to the FDA on the number of deaths associated with other ED therapies would reveal a mortality rate equal to or higher than Viagra on a per patient basis.
