Interesting article in today's WSJ about Hasso Plattner. Here's the link but you will need an online sub to view....

interactive.wsj.com

Here's an excerpt -

"A household name he may not be. But Hasso Plattner, co-founder and co-chairman of fast-growing software giant SAP AG, is one of Europe's richest men (his 20% stake in SAP is valued at about $6.9 billion) and, increasingly, a Pied Piper of technology in Europe. On a continent where chief executives are rarely seen or heard, Mr. Plattner is capturing the fancy of a new generation of entrepreneurs with his wild success and eccentric style -- whether it is jamming on an electric guitar at a gathering of SAP pants to "moon" minions of Larry Ellison of software rival Oracle Corp."

"Competitors, meanwhile, say SAP is falling behind the development curve. The company has been slower than others in harnessing the power of the Internet, for example, they say. "Is [Mr. Plattner] a great figure in the tech world?" asks Edward McVaney, chief executive of rival J.D. Edwards Inc. "He would think so."

Looks like Hasso has hired a personal PR firm (LOL).

Just to set the record straight. I like SAP. Bought in when the ADR's were $1100 a share in '95. Got out in '96 and back in earlier this year.
