Rillinois, I agree that it would be nice if Brinker would come out and say something like, "This recommendation didn't quite work out as we expected, and consequently we are re-targeting for a longer time frame." On the other hand, I don't need my investment advisors to be perfect, because Brinker has also taught us about risk management.

By the way, if the market surprises us by taking UTEK up to 36 by the end of the year, are you going to come back on here and tell us that Brinker's original recommendation was right after all?

rillinois, imho, bob is dead wrong on utek. the semi industry is melting down. atml just preannounced. mu is losing tons of money while buidling nearly 100 tons of inventory. alol dram mftrs are toast. 64 mb crossover is occuring and driving up supply. cost cutting measures are drastically increasing supply. pc growth and asps are falling at a faster and faster rate. the bang for the buck in pcs is dropping drastically. windows 98 is a windows 95 patch.

nobody wants to quit b/c the proverbial carrot of a pricing turn is always put out six months down the road (and always wrong).

companies losing money are going anywhere and everywhere there is a profit and killing those markets.

this down turn has just started, folks. it will be a while before things pick up. when they do there will not be the type of growth as seen from 1991 through 1995 (1997 in some cases) b/c the pc market is maturing.

utek, amat and many other semi companies will get cheaper. wdc kind of cheap, or worse, imho.
