Thanks, George, for both replies. It's good to hear from you.

>>Well, these broadband wireless companies could well prosper, but AT&T already has GigNet, the 38 gig Teleport holding, which is technologically apace with the rest.<<

I think you're referring to BizNet <?> which AT&T picked up with TCG? BizNet, for all intents and purposes, from what I've been told is not considered a fully deployed facility-based entity yet, since it is not built out yet beyond some initial and perhaps token locations, fwiw. Instead, its value thus far lies in the many 38GHz market licenses it holds and only represents a "potential" at this point to satisfy initial builds to TCG(/T?) clients who are not in the direct path of major TCG fiber builds. They will also be supplying secondary routes to the fiber where diversity and redundancy are essential.

Regards, Frank C.

ps - I thoroughly enjoyed reading your Silicon Soul <actual title?> article in the last Forbes ASAP. Thanks!

When T paid $11B for TCGI, TCGI had 4K buildings "on net".

Again, WCII will have 8-10K buildings on net by end of next year, at roughly twice the margins. WCII is largest holder of 38GHz spectrum in the US. WCII has a current market cap of around $1.6B ($2.3B on fully diluted shares).

see uls-gis.fcc.gov

click next, then scroll down frequencies to "38.6 to 40GHz", click next again, then click create map (with "Entire US" as the default)
