Guinea and the country to the north Guinea-Basau are two separate entities. The Republic of Guinea has a democratic form of government.The U.S. State Dept. has no warnings of Rebel activity there, just the normal cautions of robbers, thieves and gangs. Guinea has the largest deposits of bauxite in the world, and the government has indicate it wants to accelerate mining development. Also, Ashanti Gold has begun development of a property in Eastern Guinea. IMHO the rebel factor is not a serious issue. The country needs the revenue. I am looking forward to the end of the rainy season. regards, Red Britton
