PC, You also have to expect a touty co. like CPQ to pull a Microchip and throw a lot of inventory into that big writeoff. That way, "operating earnings" will be better than expected and the turnaround is finally in place. <G> Of course, all of this relies on analysts and the media remaining stupid. Can you say "sure thing" and "a golden lock"? Still whenever I rely on the great unwashed to be idiots, I use long calls instead of long stock. Sometimes they can fool you. MB
