The Shareholder rights plan I believe is why the stock jumped 1/2 point at the end of the day (or wall st liked the announcement of more layoffs?). I bought some shares at 7 11/16 so I do have a bit of an interest here. I too will be watching this story closely. IMHO this stock is oversold.

I tend to agree with you,. I have formed the position that "shareholders rights" are nothing more than current managment sitting down and saying - Hey we may be vulnerable here, quick lets make it hard for anyone to realize value without our blessing.

Unfortunately, most shareholders dont realize it for what it is and allow this kind of stuff to go on. But when I see this stuff go on, I tend to avoid the stock.

Although, I feel this should go on the value thread, if you wouldnt mind, give me your opinion of a company called octel. I like what I see. (but I dont always see the important stuff <g>)
