InnovaCom Appoints New Turnaround Team

SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Frank Alioto, President of InnovaCom, Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: MPEG), announced today that he has completed filling the key positions necessary to move the company forward. Janek Kaliczak has been appointed to the post of Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Donald Bennett to the position of Vice President of Operations and Steven Alan Levine to the post of Vice President of Engineering. Mr. Kaliczak was most recently the Director of Marketing for the company. Mr. Bennett came from Videomedia, Inc., where he was President and General Manager of the company. Mr. Levine came from MediaMetriq, a subsidiary of Videomedia, Inc., where he held the position of Vice President of Engineering.

Mr. Kaliczak, in his new position, will oversee all of the marketing efforts for the company as well as developing and managing all of the sales channels worldwide. Mr. Bennett will manage InnovaCom's daily operations, including administration, service, manufacturing and production. Mr. Levine will be responsible for managing InnovaCom's engineering team and to spearhead the company's foray into new technology fronts aligned with the company's new direction.

Mr. Kaliczak has over eighteen years experience in developing and marketing compression and digital video systems technologies. Mr. Bennett has had over two decades of experience in successfully managing companies ranging from high technology start-ups to the Fortune 500 class. Mr. Levine is one of the foremost experts in compression and digital video recording and networking technologies. Prior to joining InnovaCom, Mr. Kaliczak was the Director of Marketing for FutureTel, Inc. While there, he successfully brought to market a wide variety of products, ranging from MPEG based transmission and production systems to DVD authoring and AC-3 audio encoder systems. As Director of Product Development at Zapex Technologies, Inc., his responsibilities included strategic planning and marketing of the company's MPEG-2 chip set. At Optivision, where he was the Director of Business Development, Mr. Kaliczak planned and coordinated the company's product development efforts. He also held key management and production positions with OPTA, a subsidiary company owned by C-Cube and Winbond, Universal Studios and MicroGraphic Images Corp.

Mr. Bennett's was most recently President and General Manager of Videomedia, inc., a position he held for 9 years. While there, he successfully split the manufacturing group off from VMI Inc., to pursue a new line of V-LAN based video machine controllers. During his tenure, he created a global presence for the company in over fifty countries and implemented a developer program whose members totaled three hundred. He was also Executive VP and GM for Coherent, Inc., where he split off the Industrial Division to pursue the development of lasers used in manufacturing applications. As Product Marketing Manager at Hewlett Packard, he was responsible for managing and marketing its LED and opto-isolator product lines. At IBM, as a Product Engineer, Mr. Bennett was involved in controller technology for disk drives and IBM mainframes. Mr. Bennett holds an MBA from Standford University and a BSEE from the University of California.

While at MediaMetriq, Mr. Levine architected and developed a host of innovative technologies, including a dual-stream M-JPEG PCI plug-in, multi-format video server and real-time non-linear software architecture for DDRs and video servers. As CEO and founder of Rapid Technology Corp., Mr. Levine successfully developed and marketed a range of DDRs and M-JPEG plug-ins for such noted companies as Matrox and ASC. He was also President of Analytic Systems Group, a consulting firm specializing in digital signal processing and software development for the audio and video entertainment industries.
