BCAM comes to mind :)

Local paper had very lengthy article about consumers choosing comfort over style when purchasing shoes. Article not available online for cut/paste, so I will type one small paragraph from this very big article.

"Shoe designer Stuart Weitzman says now when he talks to women in retail stores, the first thing they invariably say is not how beautiful a shoe is but, " It is so comfortable" A shoe can be ugly,he says, and still be a best seller if it's comfortable"

"Much of the technology developed by the athletic shoe industry has been appropriated in the fashion arena. Weitzman, for instance, has added extra cushioning to his upscale dress shoes this year and in the future will incorporate the fit-to-foot molding of running shoes. "It's all about technology", he says"

Also snipped - " Fueled by high interest in health and comfort, the feel-good shoe concept is the "fastest-growing shoe category," says Dick Meckfessel, president of Mephisto USA.
