Bob,

I have always thought that AR was somehow connected with Brocade, and the recent spate of predictions only reinforces that view. I don't see how he could get the quantity of information about Brocade OEMs, as early as he seems to get them, without being connected to the company in some way. So much of this should have been covered under NDA, which indicates to me that he is an insider, or is connected with one.

Even the recent buyout rumors would tend to support that view. A connection of some sort to Brocade would likely give him access to information about OEMs that Brocade lost (or was going to lose) to Ancor, and might even uncover a buyout attempt. I might be grasping at straws, but remember how early AR warned about the Sequent deal. Well in advance of any public announcement, and if memory serves, even prior to Ancor being told of the decision. That places him pretty high up the food chain, and would seem once again to connect him with Brocade. (Sequent is another possibility, but I wouldn't think that would give him as much access to information about Brocade OEM deals.)

Up until a few weeks ago, I thought that a Vixel/Arcxel connection was possible. However, when he appeared to impersonate Jay O'Donald, I figured he wasn't in that camp, unless he was pretty stupid.

AR simply seems to know too much, given the avenues that the average investor has to pursue. I can't get that kind of information from ANY of my sources, and unless there is a slip-up, like the IBM/GS mention of a Fibre Channel to Gigabit Ethernet gateway, we don't seem to break any big news here. Our research has to be through industry magazines, and what little we can get directly from Ancor or their potential customers.

Craig

Greetings all,
I have been lurking on this thread for about a year and a half. I have absolutely no technical knowledge, so I have never posted before but would like to thank all of you who so generously share your knowledge. I also have been wondering for a long time what AR's connection to Ancor is and if he is somehow associated with the Vixel Rapport hub. I also did a search on his name the other day using infoseek. Five hits came up with four of them related to SI threads. The last one at www.pioneerplanet.com/archive/educ/tech/docs/tech5.htm
was an article about technology in four schools in....Minnesota. At the end of the article is a quote from Adam Rapport, age 10. Could this be the demon seed of our nemesis? The school he goes to is an exclusive private school called the Tesseract School in Eagan,MN. My trusty Rand McNally atlas shows that Eagan is a suburb of Minneapolis, not far from Minnetonka. I also did a search on switchboard for all Rapport's in MN- no matches. This is not a common name. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but this seems to be quite a coincidence to me. Maybe we can get JB to hang out in the school parking lot during dismissal time and see if he recognizes any cars. Back to lurker status now.
