I don't think that it was different versions at all... when talks like these are going on, do you really think that they fill the employees in on the fact that they are for sale?? I have worked for several companies in the past that have put the business up for sale and we had no clue as employees until the deal was done. That's the way it works sometimes. You called Monday and SKYNET said "No way" ... but then I Tuesday after the employess at SKYNET question the rumors, SKYNET finally comes clean and says the deal is in the works. Companies do this so that they don't create a panic at the work place with people asking themselves "wow, we're being sold, does that mean I am out of a job??" ... Happens all the time... Sorry, didn't mean to bite your head off, but it's just more information that is incorrect floating on this thread, when the truth is most of us are in the dark and have no real idea what is going to happen next. Better to sit back and let the situation play out, than to join in the bashing with mis-information that does none of the remaining shareholders on this thread any good.
