I just meant it to be a joke. penni's post about America's rush to absolve itself of guilt reminded me of a Clinton joke that I heard when this Monica business first became public. Clinton seems to be obsessed with apologizing to various groups for past "sins" of the American people. He apologized to African Americans for slavery. He apologized to the Japanese for our dropping the atomic bombs. I'm sure there are others. Of course, he won't apologize for things he is responsible for. If he did, the apology would probably go something like this: "I feel your pain. Can I feel your breasts?" Tit for tat, so to speak. DScottD
