I beleive that Mylex instituted the poison pill when they stock was up somewhere around $12. So your are correct that any buyout offer would have to be friendly. However, if Mylex truly believed that their stock was undervalued at that price Adaptec or anyone else for that matter would have to pay a significant premium given today's price. While I would love to see such an offer Adaptec is also severely off it's 52 week high so they have lost quite a bit of their market cap. so any deal would most likely have to be cash as a stock only deal would have a significant negative affect on their stock price IMHO. Do you know how much cash they have on hand?
