Just saw this price for TDFX - 16 63/64

"63/64th!!!" Someone was haggling over 1.5 cents. Gotta love it!

Unreal for Macintosh

Currently in advanced beta stage, I am told. Also, sound effects may be enhanced over Windows version.

I would guess that Voodoo II and Unreal will debut at about the same time. It would not be unreasonable to presume that Mac sales of Unreal will enhance Unreal's total sales by as much as 20 -25 % in Q3.

This may prove very beneficial for 3DFX card purchases. Coming on in Q3 will be a great help in easing any sales slump during this potentially slow quarter.

I am optimistic about the Mac contribution to 3DFX's fortunes even though Mac has recently had only as little as 3.8 % of the new computer sales market. For the following reasons:

1) Mac G3 Sales Success -May be getting as much as 6.5 - 7% of the new computer market during last quarter. (Results are, as yet, unannounced.)

2) Macintosh Purchasing Mix -Has been running 65% personal use (est.) as opposed to predominately business.

3) Mac User's Graphics Orientation -Games do disproportionately well in Mac world.

4) Mac User's Upscale Spending Habits -Mac users have the reputation for opting for quality over price. (There are 25+ million Mac users lurking out there.)

5) The Mac Next-Great-Thing Factor -Pent-up demand for advanced software to exercise a proliferation of recently purchased advanced hardware.

PS: If you are Wintel oriented, don't go by what you see in the stores. Macintosh may just as well exist in an alternate universe. Mac folks don't shop the stores for cards or software. Wintel salesmen are Mac idiots. Store people don't like us and we don't like the stores. As a result, store prices and store selections on Mac stuff are a joke. Everything is mail order in the Mac Universe. UPS and FedEx drivers are like the messengers of the gods. There are no isolated Mac users, we all communicate with one another somehow (the secret handshake, etc.). As a result we all drool and lust for the same stuff all at the same time. Unreal and enhancements such as 3DFX cards are eagerly anticipated. HR
