Looking back at past articles it appears the company believes its possible to have approval in time for the season.

Earlier Thursday, the New England Journal of Medicine reported the findings
of Aviron's clinical trial of FluMist. Researchers found that the vaccine was
highly effective, safe and well-tolerated in more than 1,600 children.
"Its reallly the last major milestone before we file the company's
application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the product's
eventual sale," Read said in an interview with CNBC Thursday.
"Perhaps we will have doses available for the 1999 influenza season," he
said.
