Jibberish-not!

<< It took probably longer than it should because in many cases, the local governments were proping some of them up. >>

I just suggest you are using the wrong tense at this juncture. Present or future might be more appropriate.

In a previous post on the Asian Forum, I picked up the potential 4 year growth for PCs in China as being something like 5.4 million units. Assuming this means $1000 per unit and 5% for DRAM, I foresaw a total DRAM revenue stream of about $.25B spread over 4 years. Not exactly a buttkicking number.

I think the future US market may be weaker than hoped for. Looking elsewhere I look to China as every Western capitalist does, the last untapped market. Surely more than 6 million PCs should exist there in 4 years, if only the economics could work themselves out. Wouldn't it be wonderful to create a market economy in China that would absorb proportionally as many PCs as the US market ? Unfortunately politics, economic realities and the like keep getting in the way. That darn Asian contagion again.

I'm holding a raffle. Whoever guesses the low for KLAC tomorrow wins one slightly used DRAM fab (batteries and shipping costs not included, warranty expired). My guess is 24. If it doesn't set a new low, it might be a good entry price. If it does set a new low, there'se no telling where the bottom is.
