In strictly economic terms, you certainly have a valid argument. I will also stand by my statement that there are some very substantial employer costs associated with this problem. Im not sure if you were disagreeing or just pointing out that there are savage costs associated with cigs as well. In any case, and if Im wrong I apologize up front, it appears we agree that there is a very disadvantagous burden on all of society by the minority of individuals who endorse these behaviors. Maybe that leads to a final cut and dry question of whether it makes more sense to prohibit tobacco products or legalize marijauna.
