Not true. Price matters are also a concern. People would just have to buy the OS and they'd get Office and Explorer and other things as part of it (yes, there was talk about integrating Office). In that respect, they would own the entire market. Also, it's strange how you tell me you downloaded Explorer and Navigator before you actually got a browser. I assume you were on AOL. <g>

I didn't read the US News article for several reasons...1. I don't like the magazine. It's a poor
substitute for The Economist. 2.I don't think the former CEO of IBM wants to admit that his vision
was poor and that he missed the market. Kind've an ego thing. Better to look good and say "the nasty
DOJ demoralized me and the company" or some such. It makes him look like a martyr, rather than
lacking vision.


If we don't believe the CEO, then who will we believe? Your contention was to check the history, and that is what I had done.

You can get the last word in. I need to do actual work. :o)
