Alan,

I didn't say anything of the kind. MSFT might be still considering NOVL a threat but NOVL's new focus is to take advantage of MSFT's enterprise weaknesses and will make any of MSFT's products better solutions.

NOVL will do anything now to avoid a conflict with MSFT. Take the Sun Lawsuit. NOVL was suppose to testify in the case. NOVL even went to court to avoid getting involved.

So, if I gave you that impression, I'm sorry. NOVL will be using MSFT to feed its own recovery.

When it comes to Directory Services, make no mistake about it though, NDS and Active Directory will be at war. The good news is that even if somehow Active Directory becomes popular, open standards like LDAP3 and future return to DAP will not allow MSFT to make their directory propriatary.

Exactly. If NDS is superior to ActiveDirectory then a good working relationship between NOVL and MSFT is great. If NDS for NT is "insanly great" then all the better for MSFT and NOVL. The key for MSFT is selling more NT and if selling NDS (for NT) can be a good business for NOVL and it sells more NT then that sounds like a great win win situation.
