I would not lose any sleep worrying about Clearlogic taking
ALTR business. Maybe ALTR can sign a licensing agreement with
Clearlogic to sell those parts. ALTR would probably like to
unload the baggage of the FLEX 8K family, the product served
as an entry into the SRAM market but has so many shortcomings that
the marketeers even gave up on it. The FLEX 6K is another product
family that I doubt will provide any ROI, seemed like a kneejerk
reaction to low cost XLNX 5200 family. If ALTR can stay focused
and execute on the 10K/A/E and 7KS/A with advanced process geometries (lower cost / higher performance) and slow the price erosion for 6 months, we will see some real growth.
