That, my friend, I sincerely doubt. I will reread it. I am an astute anti-Communist (not a McCarthyite, mind you...many of my best friends are Communist...doesn't make them bad people) because I know it doesn't work.
Communists just don't want to believe it...yet.
BTW, I believe Communism does work in certain limited situations. The group has to be 10 or less, and the environment has to be very focussed (an industry of some nature, or a family unit). However, what is interesting is that in a communist society, individualism is a crime and cannot be tolerated. In an individualist-based society, many communist arrangements can be tolerated. Communes remain a common occurrence in the US. How many private businessmen would be allowed in a truly communist society?
You see, competition and cooperation are two sides of the same coin. Except...if you believe heartily in competition, you often have to defer to some level of cooperation to be succesful. If you believe more heartily in cooperation, then competition is to be feared and disavowed.
