VLAD <<Currently the upside potential of VVUS over the next 6 months far out weighs the upside potential of PFE over the next 6 months. I see a real possibility in a 400% gain in VVUS but only about a 15 to 20% gain in PFE at current levels. >> VLAD, I make my investing decisions based on future value. I will invest only in companies where I think their value based on fundamentals will significantly increase in the future or great companies that are 10% off their highs. I suggest thinking about how the following when evaluating the value of Pharma companies: - Management- What is their past record? Do they have the competence and marketing skills to lead in the future -Product line- What is the performance of the current products? What are the future products? What will be the impact if something happens to the major products? -Market- What is the current and future competition? What resources do they have in comparison to my company? What will be the potential impact on the company's sales and revenues? -Specification: What are the specification trends of the major products? How will a specification loss be reversed? Is there a new product available to make up for the loss? Finally, ask the question: would you want to own 100% of this company with its current management, products, and future?
