Increasing Emphasis on Applications
LOS GATOS, Calif., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Red Brick(R) Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:REDB), The Data Warehouse Company(R), today announced several management changes directed at advancing the Company's application and solution strategy. The Company has formed an "Office of the President" which Christopher Erickson, President, CEO and Chairman, and Phillip Fernandez, who has been promoted to the newly created position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will share. This will allow Erickson to delegate day-to-day company operations in order to provide increased focus on Red Brick's corporate strategy, business development, and sales. Fernandez's responsibilities will include all day-to-day operations of the Company with the exception of sales, which Erickson will oversee. Fernandez will also be responsible for developing, implementing and communicating a plan to aggressively and rapidly add applications to the Company's DecisionScape(SM) offerings and to complete the Company's transformation into a solutions company. Fernandez was previously Senior Vice President of Products and Services. Margaret Brauns, Vice President and CFO, and Anthony Layzell, Sr. Vice President, Sales and Marketing, have resigned to pursue other interests. The Company's new executive staff, reporting to the Office of the President effective immediately, are:
* Ron Barale, who is promoted to Vice President, Platform Products Group. Barale will be responsible for all platform product development as well as worldwide customer support, MIS and Operations. Barale was previously Vice President, Support and Services. * Andy Priest, who is promoted to Vice President, Solutions and Services. Priest will manage the worldwide Professional Services and Educational Services organizations, and will form and head up a key new group responsible for the development and delivery of applications and solutions. Priest was previously Director, Worldwide Professional Services. * Paul Rodwick, who is promoted to the position of Vice President, Marketing. Rodwick will be responsible for all marketing activities within the company. Rodwick was previously Senior Director, Product Management. * Kristi Smith, who is promoted to the position of Vice President and CFO. Smith will be responsible for all finance and accounting functions. Smith was previously Corporate Controller. * Larry Howard maintains his current position as Vice President, North American Sales. * Peggy DeLeon also maintains her current position as Vice President, Human Resources.
