Today,
AMAT may turn south because of these -ve news:
1) KLAC is missing their number and the out look is not rosy
for near future.
news.com

2) INTEL for the first time started closing factory on a temporary
basis and looking for more aggressive lay-off options.

3) The third, but not directly related news, is that CompUSA will
show -ve numbers this quarter.

On the positive side Japan is giving a serious front to their bridge
bank which may boost other sectors. But this does not mean semi equips will get immediate boost.

Gottfried, >The semi equipment outlook is cloudy and all I hear says
things won't improve for a year or so. Normally stock
prices don't rise that far ahead of a better outlook.

Looking at SI overall, the bull/bear ratio has increased
a lot lately, though. Some of those voting bullish must
be invested in AMZN. <g>

So which stock would you rather buy AMZN the momentum stock at present or AMAT which is down.<g> I stay with the Gorilla stock-AMAT.

Semi's are at the 23.1 and in a column of "x", bull alert status.
