valentine, you're reaching now aren't you. if you were serious about the desire to understand dgiv's technology you would contact the company and arrange to meet with their technical peope for the purpose of discussing their system. that is the appropriate method of ascertaining technical details. but you have no desire to deal with the facts you just want to blow smoke. you know that sitting across the table from the technical source would force you into dealing with specifics instead of generalizations. your agenda is not to fairly measure their technology but to simply criticize what you don't understand. your posts are not only unfair to dgiv, they are not representative of reasonable technical assessment, imho.

>>It doesn't seem that VOXW have much faith in their Voice technology in the IP
telephony market does it. Doesn't look like DGIV made the right decision when
selecting their voice algorithms. Here'a a little DD for you guys!
From their last quarterly report:
The Company licenses its technologies to software and hardware companies
for a wide range of applications and services, and primarily targets the
following four markets: electronic devices, multimedia software, Internet
Protocol (IP) telephony and wireless communications. With respect to IP
telephony, initial deployments in that market have primarily utilized
standardized codec technologies (and not Voxware's proprietary codec
technologies). In addition, initial deployments in IP telephony have been
characterized by bandwidth-rich managed networks (Intranets), which
networks generally do not benefit significantly from low bandwidth solutions
such as Voxware's technologies. Principally, in consequence of these factors,
the requirement for Voxware's technologies in the IP telephony market is
not expected to significantly arise at least for the next two years, if ever. <<

Valentine ,

1. VOXW's marketing statement did not draw the same conclusion as what you described. VOXW's statement highlighted their own proprietary codec technologies which they believed the better solution and outperformed the older standardized codec technologies. You may misunderstand the statement.

2. VOXW's codec technolgy can better compress the digitized voice bits/data in order to communicate on a congested link on the net. INTRANET evnironment is normally talking about local area area network or campus network which has better bandwidth(such as 100 Mbit/s Ethernet network or FDDC). Of course the terms are different between INTRANET and Internet, but their higher protocol layer(TCP/IP) are the same. To a technical person, they are the same.

I am busy with NSCP lately(My blood is hot for it), did not spend too much to lurk on this thread. IF people like DGIV, go for it, if not, don't buy it. Good Luck!
