re: Last year I had the privilege of using one and it lived up to its billing as the world's least intuitive interface (according to one of those idiot's books). Only hardcore computer geeks without a social life could possibly find it attractive.

I to had the "privilege" of using a UNIX Workstation about 5 years ago. I used a MAC for simple engineering analysis/design tasks but used the UNIX Workstation for more demanding jobs.

Our engineering group (approx 10 engineers) could only afford one workstation so we had to time share.

We had no on site UNIX experts to support us so we had to call the vendor, in this case HP to help us. This was really aggravating since this would cause significant delays.

I'm truly amazed that Sun hasn't developed an intuitive GUI for their OS. Are you sure about this? This would indicate to me that Sun is designing their OS for UNIX geeks and not end users who are only interested in applications and don't want to become expert in UNIX.
