We don't have to journal positions between accounts, only cash. Equities are held in one acct, options in the other. And I didn't have the foresight to ask about covered calls although its a good question. I suspect we go long the stock in one account and short the option (write the call) in the other. I did find out that if you do write a covered call and are called out, the commission is the standard trading commission. Other brokers ding you for that 'service'.

And I'll bet this is as BAD as it gets. This stuff (being your own MM) is still in its infancy. Its only going to get better in time especially as those shaping it receive constructive feedback from users like you and I and as datacomm/software technology improves. And, no, I don't work for or have any financial interest in Terra Nova, Southwest, Townsend, etc.!!
