It stands for Posts Telegraph and Telephone and, about 15 years ago, in most countries, was the government owned or sponsored (correct, R1) agency which had a complete monopoly over telecommunications within and without a country. These days, many, but not all, of these PTTs have been privatized and opened up to competition.

Thanks R1 and Howard for the PTT lesson. Well, heck, this just gets better and better! Because DGIV is not limited by any PTT due to it's system architecture. Also, I haven't snooped around enough yet, but which company out in California is working on a contract with Brazil? I'm not talking about DGIV.....I'm talking about the company that Valentine and Paul work for. Once we find out that....we'll know who they are working for and possibly reasons why they want to undermine DGIV. Juanita
