The Giggler strikes. Further evidence that PC prices are dropping (or that component prices are dropping).

Pierre,
I have been going round and round with Dell over the last three days agonizing over a
laptop buy. Finally decided today what the configuration was going to be. So I called
them up. Hehehe Prices had dropped the equivalent of $180 bucks since my
conversation with them yesterday plus I got a 4 GB ultra ATA versus a 3.1 GB IDE.
Some days it pays to snooze. I guess I should have taken a clue from all this and
delayed another week. price.

best,
Stitch

Larry/all, yes the outlook is gloomy. "Chip Recovery isn't Near" is the front page headline of the SJMN . The layout is a bit different online: sjmercury.com

Silicon Valley layoffs are featured.
