Terrence, around San Francisco local communities are starting to enact legislation forbidding smoking outside. In San Francisco it just pertains to children's playgrounds and recreation centers. I believe Santa Cruz has a fairly strict outdoor smoking law, and some places are making it illegal to smoke in lines for movies, or outside businesses within fifty feet of the doors.

So you may still have a chance to be civilly disobedient!!
