Sandon, Yes you have a legit gripe. But CLEARLY the reason for the check hold is a MANAGEMNET DECISION that they want to make SURE those funds clear. A NSF check doesn't erase the losses incurred in an account..

I wouldn't like such a policy either! As I said I have Regal and Ameritrade who have a similar policy (they want the $$ first), they don't get much of my trading as a result. If I need to invest a little more than I have funds on account, I don't want to be told "send us a check first".

So in my view the resolution is simple. Complain to the manager, showing her how your account history shows you DESERVE an exception to the 10 day hold rule. And if this doesn't work... leave.
