So the clear impression I get Rude from your posting to Cheryl is that "we know that NT is a shitty enterprise solution but it make MSFT money - so who cares". I would agree with you on that impression.

The problem with this is that the IT customer now wants to take MSFT products - NT in particular - into the enterprise arena. This is where MSFT sales will come to a brick wall.

And NT5 will not be the answer to this enterprise issue. MSFT sales on NT have been to fill the void of small scale departmental solutions. This market will fill in and NT sales will slow down as a result. Also, the industry is clearly starting to broadcast the fact that NT is not scalable and enterprise ready. This will affect sales - this will affect MSFT bottom line earnings!

So Rude - I'm sorry to flush your FUD a bit but dont try to separate that MSFT can make money indefinately on shitty products. The vaporware that MSFT has been so successful at promoting is now in the stages of hitting the reality wall. Maybe you are convinced that MSFT can still make money if NT5 sales flop, but Wall Street will see the real truth when the Earnings reports start showing otherwise in next year's figures.

I will agree that MSFT may have success with NT5 Workstation, but you were way off base as to NT is much easier to manage than WinX. First they must address the fact that make 3rd party ISV software still does not work properly on NT.

So, come down to earth reality a bit Rude. The past does not reveal the future.
