ATI may have the manufacturing capacity but they definitely do not have leading edge performance. The RAGE Pro can not even run QUAKE II or any other Open GL game yet. One advantage to ATI is they have a family of chips and sort of keep their drivers uptodate, except for the Open GL which they keep on promising. cl >>>> You have to introduce leading edge performance and then quickly get the product cost reduced for mainstream. S3 can succeed when they get this chip ready for the mainstream market because they have the fab capacity to manufacture the chips and deliver high volume.<<<<
