Time, I remember when Dell had the notebook problem. However, since I wasn't following the stock at that time, I didn't see the drop as you described. However, your posting tends to support what I have been saying about the risk with this stock.

I remember it well....I was there. I am still here.....I have the faith.

re '93 Dell Disaster

Fascinating. I of course only got into Dell last year (poor me) was still investing in KO and MCD in those (long ago) days.
But its interesting and great to know how MD was able to recover and strengthen

dell dropped last oct from 100(50) to 60something ($30), buying oppurtunity of a life time. if dell drops 50% I m sure there will be
plenty of people who would jump in this time.

i m investing M.D. not jsut PC business. within a year or so dell will be shipping servers ...high margin $$$$$..

all i can do is hope dell drops 50%.<g> i think all dell bulls would love the oppurtunity.

Short term problem, long term opportunity.....

Believe it or not Dell was a small-mid cap stock back then. The drop was more like $50 to $15 in less than six months and was due to Dell missing a quarter and exiting the notebook business for about a year. Dell the stock was decimated, Dell the company was doing just fine. Anyone that got in at the low is in at about a $1 a share.

PS: Is there anyone on this thread that went through that correction and held on?
