Actually, it is the DOJ that is messing with Microsoft.

And you are absolutely right - NETSCAPE STARTED forcing the DOJ to clamp down on Microsoft - and here is their chief technical guy admitting that Microsoft indeed works (and worked) hard to get where they are today.

The comments are kinda stunning, aren't they. But, in my experience, techies just can't lie like the suits and marketing guys can. I'm sure his handlers were mortified by what he said. But good techies like to look at truth unvarnished (the engineering background makes them want to see the lab results "un-spun").

How many times have you been in a sales meeting when the head of engineering starts telling the TRUTH about an upcoming product (from ship dates to features) and all of his colleagues start to squirm!
