Nice post, stx.

Today's market action is decent. No one wants to sell below $31, people are heading out for the holiday, when the market resumes we will four days closer to earnings.

Seems that TRU might be managing inventory carefully as most stores in the chain had fewer Quest copies than EBs, Babbages, etc. TRU's seem to have fewer Saga than other stores too. I think the high I've seen from the checks is 24 Saga in one store's initial shipment whereas TRU is more like single digits.

Thanks for digging up the Treasury data. I knew the UK is a bigger
holder of U.S. bonds than Japan. It is a sad misconception that
people still think Japan is the largest holder of US bonds. That is
just not so. I must say that I am surprised to not have seen China
higher up. In 1996, they were indeed bigger buyers of US bonds than
Japan. But my memory failed me on that point: it's been a year that
I stopped covering fixed income.

I thought of providing Aloha with a list of my sources to confirm.
Honestly, there is little recourse one can take to counter claims
except to provide independent sources like you did. Well, I would
like to add to your accurate data a couple of more CURRENT sources.
Mr. Pineapple should consider calling the Federal Reserve Board of
Governors (202) 452-3540. It also just happens that Louis Crandall,
an analyst at Wrightson Associates, is doing a piece on the topic
of foreign ownership of U.S. bonds this week. I confirmed your
numbers with him: the UK is indeed the largest holder of US bonds
now like I posted earlier today. Japan, however, is the largest
holder of sumi wrestlers. Thank you very much.

As for my bullishness on THQI during the Ides of March, I started
to buy at $18 actually. Look at my post #4118 on March 17 at 12:44
p.m. Here is a link for the non-credulous skeptics (it's a good
thing.) www3.techstocks.com
I like to average up sometimes. Yes, I was a buyer at $26 as well
(and at $20, $21 and Sigmund's sell price of $25) Take a look at my
other posts for the record.

R Keeling, thanks for your research. Things are not always as they
seem, especially with Japan, the #2 holder of US Treasuries. It's
time for pineapple dim sum. Aloha.

Thanks for the news. I was wrong and I'm surprised to see UK move ahead.

They must have just moved into the top spot. I would love to see the last 6 months worth of data. If you see it, please post.. vis-versa.

Aloha
