I thought Oracle was the most likely candidate to buy Vantive. But there is an article in Upside discussing the dilemma Oracle has with the apps, and apparently they are even considering selling the division or spinning it off, at which point a Vantive buyout is unlikely. Your friend the fabulous Chuck Phillips is quoted. I really can't think of who else would buy Vantive if Psft and Orcl are out of the equation.

TD,
Any theory on why the volume has been so high on the decline? I looked back to charts of RMDY, MANU, and CLFYwhen they tanked and none of them had big volumes until either they were downgraded (RMDY) or announced problems. This is strange. Do you think they are about to be downgraded?

David
